The Holy Trinity Annex is home to 10 Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) classes from local school districts, Hyde Park CSD (full day contract) and Arlington CSD (partial day contract),
Additionally, the main campus hosts 4 UPK classes with students from Arlington, and Poughkeepsie.
What is UPK?
Universal Prekindergarten (UPK) is a New York State early childhood initiative, administered in the three school school districts noted above in collaboration with Holy Trinity School. UPK is designed to help more children begin their education at an early age and get a solid start on the road to active learning. Our UPK Program represents an excellent, high-quality Pre-K education for 4-year-olds.
As in all of our early childhood classrooms, each academic subject (literacy, math, science and social studies) is taught. Each UPK Pre-K Classroom is “universal” in the fact that we make every effort to comply with New York State Education Department UPK funding regulations. In addition, there are the same accountably, curriculum, assessment, materials, professional development and methodology in each of our Pre-K rooms.
Based on the district's contract from NYS, there are different times offered for attendance. For those districts that provide partial day UPK seats, the HT Annex offers a tuition-based UPK Wrap program which brings your child's program to a full day experience.
