Kindergarten at the Holy Trinity School Annex engages children in learning while having fun in class. Together with their classmates, Kindergarten students will:
Engage NY Math Modules (Supplemental)
Kindergarten students have a well-planned, sequential math program that is embedded with hands-on, playful, interactive, largely concrete experiences. Students are encouraged to use their math words to communicate their observations.
First grade builds upon the foundation of kindergarten. We use the same religion (Sadlier), math (Eureka), reading (ReadyGen), and phonics (Sadlier) to continue and expand on the skills taught in kindergarten. Through the use of centers and small groups we differentiate to meet the needs of every learner.
As students prepare to receive sacraments in second grade, we participate in weekly Mass. Students begin to understand and practice the responses said at Mass. We learn about seeing and loving Jesus in everyone we meet as well as living out our faith through service.
First grade is the year students strengthen their roots of education as they grow into independent learners, ready to spread their wings in second grade.
